Silly Putty

There is nothing silly about Silly Putty!!!!

I used to think that Silly Putty was a pretty safe plaything, it's not real sticky, you can stretch it, brake it, and even copy news print with it. So what’s the harm in having one little egg of it in the house? Well that can be answer with one name... David!
My little toad of a son found our one little egg of silly putty and the day was not silly. Some how he got it so mashed into his hair that I could hardly tell what it was. At first I thought he had conned some nice person into giving him bubble gum.

But it didn't smell like gum or even really feel like it. At first I deluded myself into thinking that I could "work" it out. I tried for about 30 min. poor David was not happy. So then I pulled out the big guns, scissors.

I tried my hardest to just get the stupid putty out but ended up giving Dave the biggest bald spot you've ever seen. He looked like he had male pattern baldness. Not Cute! So then we had to go one step further.

Yep, we pulled out the clippers, sheep shears, military man makers. That was one of the shortest hair cuts that boy ever got, and believe it or not there was just the littlest trace of pink still in what was left of his hair. But it didn't seem to bother him at all.
He is kind of cute as a bald boy.

So Ben's birthday is tomorrow, but he will be in Washington DC. So we had his party tonight. He waned crab for dinner, which is fine I won't eat them but Ben loves them. So we went to a small fish market here in Medford. I love this place not because I have ever been there before but because they have a sign in their window that says, "Order your Holiday Fish now!" The sign changes now and again to say things like "Order your Christmas fish now!" or "Order your Ash Wednesday fish now!" I can't imagine "Holiday Fish" but I don't like fish.
Anyway, I was fine with steaming the crabs I have done it before, but when I looked into the brown bag, and reached inside, they moved. THEY MOVED!!!!! It creeped me out, Ben did a lovely job steaming his rock crabs. Dinner was great and the kids loved showing us how crabs move, they wanted to let the two crabs we had for dinner race. I can just picture "Larry" and "Sarah" race across the kitchen floor and under the couch with a crowd of small children slapping the floor cheering on their favorite crustation.
Today is my little brother's birthday. Happy Birthday Clint!!! Your card is in the mail.

Kids are so much fun. I'm sitting here watching "Yours, mine, and ours" and feeling like that is my life. They have 18 children and I only have four. But it's surprising how my children seem to multiply. We had to walk about a mile to get our car today after it was fixed. Emma was able to play at her friend Willa's house. So it was just Allen, Abby, David, and I. Allen got on the Barbie scooter, Abby got on her bike with training wheels and David rode his trike (mom pulled him.) We started off in good form, but sadly after only five blocks I was carrying one scooter, one bike, and one two year old. (While still pulling the trike)
Boy was it fun!!!
We were able to get the car and do what we needed to but I hope I never have to do that again.

This one's for Rolana

YES!!! I think we are moving to Texas next. Ben has been interviewing with a few firms out there. As a matter of fact he is fling there right now. I think that we are going to go there this summer even. It should be really fun. The kids are already crying about leaving their friend. Until I told them that the house that we would buy could have a pool. Then there was NO complaining. They think that Texas is the coolest place in the world because most of the houses that we have looked at have pools. Emma also loves that is won't get as cold as it gets here in MA. I love the cold weather, the colors of fall and of course the snow. But I am looking forward to moving to a new place and I have heard wonderful things about Texas. We hope we will be able to look you up this summer.

Facebook

So Ben signed me up for Facebook this week, because I couldn't do it myself, and I love it!!! I have been able to find my best friend from birth to about 12. Stephanie McDonald lived next door to us when we lived on Valley View Dr. She moved to California when I was 12. I met up with her a few years later when my high school choir toured Southern Cal. More years past and I have often thought about her. She found my number and called me about five years ago to tell me that she was moving to Hawaii. I have tried to find her since then but haven't been able to find anyway to get in thought with her. Until this week. Heather, Stephanie's sister, found me on Facebook and I have been able to get her number and call her. It is so wonderful to find old friends. I miss those childhood friends.

Blogging Bug

I am such a slacker. I was look through some of my old things and found a note from one of my favorite people ever. She inspired me for the first time to start in on this blogging thing. My thoughts about blogging have always been, "are you kidding I touch a computer and it explodes" and "I'm not nearly funny enough to have a blog." But because this is for my family only I guess it really doesn't matter how funny I am.
Well two minutes ago that was how I felt, but then I looked at my page and saw that someone had actually commented on my blog and I love her to death but she isn't my mom or one of my sisters, so there is a ton of pressure now. (Just kidding everyone knows that I'm kind of a dork!)
So this is where my blogging history starts and hopefully not where it ends.
